Meet our Regional Dietitian

Karen Jew, RD, LDN is a Registered Dietitian and Food Service Manager available to meet with you to discuss your food and nutritional needs.  She helps students choose healthy meals and snacks with fast facts, nutritional information, and offer Mindful and MyPlate advice. Karen works closely with various Health & Wellness offices on campus to address the needs of students with special dietary considerations as well as food allergies and sensitivities. 

Karen holds a Master of Science degree in Food and Nutrition from Framingham State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Boston College.  Her professional dietetics experience includes nutrition counseling, education, and community outreach as a Clinical Dietitian and Clinical Nutrition Manager.  Prior to joining Campus Services, Karen was a Food Services Operations Manager at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA.  Additionally, Karen has been a longtime volunteer for Community Servings, a not-for-profit food and nutrition program providing services throughout Massachusetts for individuals and families living with critical and chronic illnesses.

Another important part of our focus on health and wellness is the use of seasonal menus, featuring fresh and healthy ingredients - many of which are grown by local or regional farmers. Every season has its own unique produce that is showcased in delicious signature dishes to highlight the distinct flavors and natural appeal of seasonal items.

For students who have special dietary and nutritional needs we have informational resources and customized menus to address your needs. These menus meet the strictest compliance standards, without sacrificing flavor, texture or presentation.
